Signs and Symptoms of Bacterial Vaginosis Infections

BV Signs and SymptomsSurprisingly enough many women fail to notice any signs and symptoms of a bacterial vaginosis infection. Quite often a BV infection will go away on its own. This is probably the reason many women have not even heard about BV infections even though it is the most common form of vaginal infection.

However, of those women that do recognize the signs and symptoms of a BV infection, very often they get recurring BV infections.

Recurring bacterial vaginosis infections or persistent BV as it’s also called can lead to chronic bacterial vaginosis infections. This means BV tents to keep coming back and for these women it is extremely frustrating and soul destroying.

Bacterial vaginosis infections have a huge impact on a woman’s day to day living. It gets to the stage where the woman feels unclean and downright dirty. They tend to isolate themselves from society, become withdrawn and suffer in silence.

A BV sufferer’s partner is often unaware of the reason his wife is withdrawn and refrains from all forms of intimacy. After all, talking about a BV infection is awkward to say the least! Especially when she feels it is all her fault – not cleaning herself properly etc.

However, nothing can be further from the truth! A bacterial vaginosis infection is NOT the result of uncleanliness, having sex, or anythingRecurring BV Infection Treatment else.

BV Signs and Symptoms

Thin water discharge, often milky white

Strong unpleasant odor – fishy smell

Vaginal soreness and irritation

Women need to be aware of the signs and symptoms of a bacterial vaginosis infection in order to get prompt treatment.  BV infections are often confused with yeast infections again a common vaginal infection in women.

Yeast infections tend to have a thicker discharge and do not have the strong odor associated with a BV infection.

I strongly advise all women to get your initial diagnosis of a BV infection from your family physician. When you suffer with recurring BV infections then you know what you have and can safely treaty them in the comfort of your own home.

Doctors treat a BV infection with antibiotics. Whilst initially this clears the BV infection for most women it also results in her having a yeast infection as a result of the antibiotics killing off all the good bacteria along with the harmful ones. Antibiotics cannot distinguish from good and bad bacterium.

When all the good bacteria are killed off it allows the bad bacteria to come back and thrive. Another recurring BV infection happens.

This is why we advocate using natural home remedies to get rid of Bacterial Vaginosis infections.

First let’s understand the signs of a BV infection. The strong vaginal odor associated with a bacterial vaginosis infection is actually the smell of the harmful bacteria. When the vaginal flora is balanced there is no odor. Good healthy bacteria helps keep bad bacteria under control. We need to strive for a perfectly balanced vaginal flora.

Soreness and irritation is caused again by the harmful bacteria.

In order to have a good balanced vaginal flora we need to consume a good probiotic. Probiotics help replenish our good bacteria in the gut, intestinal system and vagina.

There is such a thing as too much good bacteria too! It’s a balancing act for sure!

When you get the signs and symptoms of a BV infection you should start to take a good probiotic. You can also insert vaginal probiotics to help replenish healthy bacteria directly where you require it.

I really like Elena Peterson’s 3 step approach to vaginal and overall  women’s health. Instead of just concentrating on the vaginal flora Elena takes into account the whole system. She understand what a delicate balance the vagina needs to stop recurring BV infections.

Using her 3 step protocol she helps prevent recurring bacterial vaginosis infection for good.

Usually when you have your monthly period or have intercourse, the vaginal flora is disrupted again and a BV infection can come back. With Elena’s approach to getting rid of bacterial vaginosis infections, she  keeps the vagina perfectly balanced so it isn’t disrupted when our periods arrive.

In fact, many women report feeling tremendously healthy and invigorated and free from BV infection when they implement her simple 3 step method to get rid of BV infections for good.

Elena PetersonThe good news is Elena uses three over-the-counter products you can buy locally without a prescription to treat BV infections! No more embarrassing doctor’s visits!

I am a huge believer in using natural home remedies to treat  BV infections. Even if you don’t follow this protocol daily, when you have these three items in your kitchen cupboard and you start to see any signs and symptoms of BV infections you can quickly zap it in its tracks!

I agree with you 100%. I don’t smoke, I’ve been in a monogamous relationship for 13 years, and to tell you the truth I’ve never seen a douche up close and in person. I used to get BV all the time, and they would always ask me those questions. I’m no medical expert, but it seems like my BV was caused by the merry go round of antibiotics I was on. I would take them for a sinus infection, then I would get a yeast infection, so we would treat the yeast infection, then I got BV, we would treat that, wash, rinse, and repeat as necessary. I ended up using way to many meds for my comfort.
